Port Site Recurrence Following a Robotic Laparoscopic Radical Nephroureterectomy for Sarcomatoid Variant of Urothelial Carcinoma

چکیده
Port Site Recurrence (PSR) following laparoscopic tumor resections has been reported for a variety of tumors. Though PSR is a rare phenomenon, they most commonly occur following nephroureterectomies for upper tract urothelial carcinoma. Herein we report a novel case of a PSR following a robotic assisted nephroureterectomy for the sarcomatoid variant of urothelial carcinoma of the upper urinary tract.

Laparoscopic nephroureterectomy with concomitant open bladder cuff excision: a single center experience.
PURPOSE To evaluate the efficacy of laparoscopic nephroureterectomy and open bladder cuff excision for management of upper urinary tract urothelial carcinoma. MATERIALS AND METHODS Twenty-two patients with upper urinary tract urothelial carcinoma, who had undergone laparoscopic nephroureterectomy and open bladder cuff excision between September 2004 and October 2010, were studied retrospectiv...
متن کاملHigh-Grade Urothelial Carcinoma of Bladder Transforming to Micropapillary Variant on Follow-Up
Micropapillary variant of urothelial carcinoma (UC) of the bladder is an aggressive tumour, comprising 0.6-6% of all UC. It generally presents with high-grade and stage, and has been reported as having a worse prognosis when compared to traditional UC. We report the case of a 58-year-old man who presented with macroscopic haematuria. The patient was diagnosed with high-grade urothelial carcinom...
متن کاملOperative technique and early experience for robotic-assisted laparoscopic nephroureterectomy (RALNU) using da Vinci Xi
PURPOSE Robotic-assisted laparoscopic nephroureterectomy (RALNU) has been previously utilized for management of upper tract urothelial carcinoma. The da Vinci Xi surgical system was released in April of 2014. We describe our operative technique and early experience for RALNU using the da Vinci Xi system highlighting unique features of this surgical platform. MATERIALS AND METHODS A total of 1...
متن کاملLaparoscopic nephroureterectomy for upper tract urothelial carcinoma – Update
Upper urinary tract urothelial carcinomas (UTUCs) are uncommon and account for only 5%-10% of urothelial carcinomas. Pyelocaliceal tumors are about twice as common as ureteral tumors. Sixty percent of UTUCs are invasive at diagnosis. Radical nephroureterectomy, including the excision of the distal ureter and bladder cuff is standard of care for treatment of localized UTUCs, because of the high ...
متن کاملTumor Recurrence Incidence Following Hand-Assisted Laparoscopic Nephroureterectomy
BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES We evaluated the incidence of tumor recurrence following hand-assisted laparoscopic nephroureterectomy (HALNU) for the treatment of upper tract urothelial carcinoma. METHODS The medical records of consecutive patients who underwent HALNU by a single surgeon (CW) between October 2001 and May 2005 were reviewed. The ureter was clipped before kidney dissection to preven...
